Teams from Knoxville win the
YAMAHA Pro-Superintendent Championship
(Hermitage, TN) It was a beautiful Halloween Eve at Hermitage Golf Course. The 8th annual YAMAHA Pro-Superintendent was held and teams from Royal Oaks Golf Club and Matt’s Driving Range came away victorious. PGA Pro Scott Wilson (Maryville) and superintendent George Latham shot –11 under par to win the Net Division. In the Gross Division, PGA Pro George Newbeck (Maryville) and Preston Kerr shot –6 under par for the win.
Bringing home second place in the Gross Division was the team from Golf House Tennessee, PGA Pro Vikki Vanderpool and Dick Horton. They shot –5 under par for the round. PGA Pro Rick Tucker and Jeff Collart from Gatlinburg Country Club shot –8 under par to finish in second place in the Net Division.
The TPGA YAMAHA Pro-Superintendent Championship is in its eighth year and has been fortunate to have YAMAHA Golf Cars as its title sponsor. The event combines TPGA Club Professionals with their Golf Course Superintendents in a best ball format. The 6,500-yard par 72 Hermitage Golf Course has been the host facility since the tournaments inception in 1999.
