Calle’s honor comes from her performance in three prominent events that she competed in this past year. She put up a strong fight against the national field of at this year’s Women’s Trans National Amateur Championship. Coming out of the gate as the stroke play qualifying medalist, Calle put up a two day total of  79th year of this long running championship.  Calle also had a strong performance at the 107th North & South Women’s Amateur where she qualified for match play and then went on to win her first match.  Another highlight to Calle’s season was the U.S. Women’s Amateur in St. Louis, Missouri.  Scoring 72-75 in her first two rounds, Calle advanced to the first round of match play competition.

Big congratulations are also in order for Maggie Scott, the Tennessee Golf Association’s 2009 Senior Women’s
Player of the Year.  This makes the eighth year Maggie is crowned this title.  Out of all of her 2009 events she played in, her advancements in two distinctive events put her name on the plaque again this year.  Maggie took the title as runner-up in this year’s competitive Women’s Senior Amateur Championship.  Finishing up the final round with the best score of the day, 77, she finished just two strokes behind taking the win home (76-79-77, 232). To round out her accrual of points Maggie as well qualified and competed in this year’s USGA Women’s Senior Amateur Championship hosted in Hot Springs, Virginia.  Maggie stood head to head with the nation’s best women’s senior amateurs posting a few birdies and some solid pars in her two rounds.

This was quite a year for Maggie.  Since adding a few more golf accolades to her already impressive list, she will as well add more name to her compilation of titles, grandmother.  Maggie’s first grandchild is officially on its way.  Congratulations to Maggie on one wonderful year!!!
