2011 Tennessee PGA Jr. Golf Academy Kicks Off - Registration Open!
With over 11,000 graduates the Tennessee PGA Jr. Golf Academy is excited to be presenting another summer of junior golf camps. New this year will be the addition of some of the TPI - Titleist Performance Institute training. For the past 38 years the TPGA Jr. Golf Academy has focused on introducing the game of golf to young boys and girls by giving them some of the best possible resources the game has to offer. By utilizing golf instruction from many of the region’s top PGA and LPGA golf professionals, as well as NCAA college golf coaches, instruction can be custom suited from the beginning golfer all the way to the aspiring competitive player. Jackson Cooper (15, Chattanooga), attending the Academy for the fourth time, echoes the sentiment that the instruction is top notch: “Each year, my game has improved, and my swing has become more and more consistent; at the end of the day it’s also a lot of fun.” In addition to instruction from PGA professionals and coaches, students are able to take advantage of a 19-acre practice range, the 18,000 sq. ft. Vince Gill practice green, a short game area and practice bunker, and the indoor Old Hickory Swing Studio with state of the art V-1 video analysis. The participants will both test and hone their playing skills at the 9-hole Little Course at Conner Lane, as well as the neighboring Vanderbilt Legends Club. Whether a first time player or an avid competitor, one thing is for certain, the smiles just keep on coming during this camp. Being able to spend all day with old and new friends surrounded by golf still seems to dictate many of our own dreams, no matter our age. Attendees contually build camaraderie with other students by constant interaction and activities, all while working to improve their skills at the game of golf. Blake Boerger (16, Chattanooga) has been coming to the academy for four years, and says that, “The great instruction and the great people keep me coming back to the Academy each year.” | |||||||
