Ace & Eagle Academy - Golf Fun and Friendships

The 2010 Ace & Eagle Academy benefiting The First Tee of Nashville concluded on August 3 with 47 The First Tee participants from 19 chapters in 10 states having just experienced a week of golf, fund and new friendships. For six days, these junior players were able to play at least 72 holes, receive golf instruction, attend leadership sessions and make many new friendships - as well as play in a Laser Chase tournament and enjoy the Wave Country water complex. Participants played golf at The Vanderbilt Legends Club, The Little Course at Conner Lane, Harpeth Hills, The VinnyLinks and The Golf Club of Tennessee. Thanks to Tennessee Golf Foundation donors, there was no charge for the participants to attend.

Support from our sponsors made this great week possible:

Franklin American Mortgage

Doug Cahill

Bob Debastiani

Jere & Jeff Ervin

The Gaylord Entertainment Foundation

The Bonnie Taggert Junior Golf Fund

The closing golf event. The 2nd Annual Ace & Eagle Academy Select Shot Challenge held at The Golf Club of Tennessee on Monday, August 2 paired two academy participants with two adult players. Despite the high temperatures, the scores were low, with 16 under par leading the way (see photo below). 98 players enjoyed the day and the hospitality that The Golf Club provided. It's a unique opportunity that has become an annual highlight of the golf season.
