BURGAN & JACKSON BREAK AWAY FROM FIELD
(Collierville) On a day where temperatures rose, so did the wind and scores during the 23rd Annual Tennessee Mid-Amateur Championship presented by Gentleman Jack at Spring Creek Ranch. With the course playing a little more firm than the first day, two players were able to break away from the field heading into the final round.
Todd Burgan (Knoxville) and Tim Jackson (Germantown) were tied for the overnight lead at 6 under par 138. Jackson shot a second consecutive 3 under par 69 while Burgan followed up his first round with a 2 under par 70. Alex Brown (Memphis) shot an even par 72 to enter the final round next closest to the leaders, four shots back at 2 under par 142.
The 23rd Annual Tennessee Mid-Amateur Championship is one of fifteen championships conducted statewide annually by the Tennessee Golf Association.
