(Crossville, TN) On a beautiful sunny day the City of Crossville State Team Championship concluded. The 36-hole championship brought together teams from all over the state to compete in the honor of beloved PGA Professional Bobby Nichols. After round one team Burdette/Coley/Hufstetler/Lambert had a commanding lead after shooting a impressive -17 under 55.

Going into round two it looked like Burdette/Coley/Hufstetler/Lambert might run away with the tournament, but team Wyatt/Jones/Brown/Richardson had other ideas for them. Wyatt/Jones/Brown/Richardson fought hard to catch the leaders today. They shot a 59 while Burdette/Coley/Hufstetler/Lambert shot a 65. Burdette/Coley/Hufstetler/Lambert were able to hold on by one stroke and bring home the championship. Congratulations to both teams who played extremely well.

Along with the team event we also had individually events for the low PGA Professional, Senior PGA Professional, Regular Amateur, and Senior Amateur. Josh Coley from Cleveland, TN shot an impressive 66, 72 (138) for the tournament and was our winning PGA Professional. Randy Helton, PGA took home the prize for the Senior Pro’s playing a very steady two rounds of 70, 71 (141).

On the Senior Amateur side Mitch Hufstetler defended his championship and won the division again after going 65, 75 (140).  Rounding out the individual winners was Amateur Tim Richardson who shot 66, 70 for the two rounds. He was our low individual for the tournament.

Thank you to everyone who participated and special thanks to the City of Crossville for sponsoring this great event, and our host PGA Professional Aubrey King and the rest of his staff. We look forward to a great event here again next year!
