David Meador (1948 -), a native of Salem, Illinois, lost his vision when he was 18 years old, but has not let his blindness hold him back. David continued playing golf after his blindness causing accident and eventually became a national blind golf champion. Meador not only won a national title, but has also had three holes in one. David’s golf accomplishments include: 1977 National Blind Golf Champion, Firestone Country Club, Akron, Ohio; 2009 National Blind Golf Championship Runner-up; 1988 Heather Farr Golf Classic Champion, Phoenix, Arizona; 2005 & 2008 The Guiding Eyes Classic Champion, New York. In 2003, David received the Kaia Jergenson Courage Award from the Nashville Sports Council.
