%    Golf writer at the Nashville Banner for 44 years

%    Past President of the Golf Writer’s Association of America (1968-69)

%    Served as a Golf World correspondent for many years

%    Past winner of the University of Missouri School of Journalism Writing Award

%    Waxo was inducted as a charter member of the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame in 1990

He covered the Masters from 1946 until his retirement in 1977. He was a long-time member of the TGA Board of Directors and has served on the selection committee for the PGA World Golf Hall of Fame.  Waxo was arguably one of the most popular golf writers of all time.  The Tennessee PGA honors Mr. Green with its annual Waxo Green Pro-Pro Championship.
