Emmett Spicer (1905-1972)
% From 1926 to 1933, Emmett Spicer set a standard for golf in Tennessee that has never been duplicated % He won five Tennessee State Amateurs Championships (1926, 28, 29, 32, & 33) % He won two Southern Amateur Championships (1926 & 1930) % Spicer’s personal philosophy was: “Live today as if it were your last. Plan for tomorrow as if it were forever.” % Emmett Spicer was inducted into the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame posthumously in 2003, where over 18 members of his family accepted his honor | |||||
