Handicapping Service


Over 36,000 TGA members in Tennessee and over 1.4 million individuals nationwide utilize the USGA's Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) System. GHIN is the largest handicap provider with over 8,500 golf clubs and 65 regional golf associations using the system. The TGA is cooperation with the Tennessee Section PGA have used the GHIN system for over 20 years. The spirit of the game lies in proper handicapping and the source of equitable handicaps is the Course Rating System - the Tennessee Golf Association follows USGA guidelines and provides rating services under the direction of trained staff and course rating teams. All TGA Member Clubs and Courses enjoy one uniform system of handicapping through the USGA's Golf Handicap & Information Network - the GHIN System provides regular up-dates of player's handicaps on a yearly or seasonal basis. The TGA also provides handicap verification for clubs hosting competitions involving players from outside the club Other Member Services.

Your TGA Membership Card (right) includes your USGA Handicap Index® and a record of your last twenty scores.
