(Knoxville, TN) On this hot and humid day 18 Tennessee PGA Professionals competed in the Knoxville News Sentinel Member Qualifier. Players battled the hot temperatures and walked around Fox Den Country Club which played at 7110 yards. The players were fighting for three spots to get into the Knoxville News Sentinel Open on August 26-29, 2010. Loren Personett from McCabe Golf Club lead the way with a 69 (-3 under par), finishing in second was Allen Fennell from Country Club of Bristol with a smooth two under par 70 (-2).

Fighting for the final spot was Scott Moran, Greg Wyatt, and Chase Brannon who all shot even par for the day. On the first hole Moran and Wyatt birdied while Brannon made a par. As a consolation prize Brannon became the second alternate into the tournament. On the second playoff hole both players hit the green and then weather rolled in and delayed play for almost an hour.  Moran holed an 8 foot putt for par to put the pressure on.  Wyatt burned the edge to finish with a bogey giving Moran then final qualifying spot.

Special thanks to Scott Moran Head Professional at Fox Den Country Club for hosting the qualifier.  Make sure to follow our Tennessee Section Members on August 26-29, 2010 as they compete in one of two Nationwide Tour events that Tennessee hosts.
