Dear PGA Professionals & Apprentices: The Tennessee PGA is pleased to offer an exciting and career-enhancing 43rd Annual Education Seminar & Annual Meeting, Sunday and Monday, February 28–March 1, 2010 at Golf House Tennessee and the Embassy Suites in Franklin. We look forward to a rewarding opportunity for education and interaction. Monday’s Club Car Awards Luncheon will recognize our Section Special Awards, Player of the Year Awards and our 2010 Distinguished Career Award (DCA) Winners. The complimentary Cocktail Party on Sunday evening will provide an opportunity to meet our Secretary candidates and network with your peers and TPGA Sponsors. Sunday’s events will take place at Golf House of Tennessee for the unveiling of the new DCA Hallway. This year’s seminar will include 4 Cracker Barrel Sessions, focusing on Fitness, Handicap Software, Golf Psychology and an Apprentice Workshop. Please indicate on the registration form your Cracker Barrel Session choice. It is recommended you register early, as sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If the session you desire is
full, you will be placed in an alternate one. We strongly recommend you register on-line at www.tngolf.org We are very fortunate this year to have as a special guest speaker, Michael Breed, PGA of the Golf Channel’s “The Golf Fix.” Michael will deliver a high energy seminar on the golf swing and his teaching methods. We will also have an optional Employment Workshop on Sunday evening from 4:00-6:00 pm with PGA Employment Services Consultants Dick Bradow and Kevin Walls at Golf House Tennessee for an additional 2 MSR Credits. The all-inclusive cost for this event is only $89 for PGA members and $45 for Apprentices. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to enhance your career and image, while networking with some of the top experts in their respective fields. Dr. Voight is an expert on functional exercise and one of the Titleist Performance Institute’s top speakers. Dr. Voight will discuss golf specific health and fitness information. He currently serves as a Professor at Belmont University’s School of Physical Therapy and has been awarded the Distinguished Educator Award from the Sports Physical Therapy Section three times.
B) GHIN Handicap 411—Lynne Howd, TGA/TPGA Handicap Director
Howd will utilize her twenty plus years of experience to deliver an interactive seminar on everything you need to know about the GHIN Handicap Software and its new features for 2010. The seminar will also include - How to make sure your course is in compliance with the USGA Handicap System, Getting your club certified and licensed, Handicap Procedures and utilizing the Tournament Pairings Program (TPP) at your facility.
C) Reach Your Golf Potential—Charles Plott, M.S. — Performance Consultant
Charles Plott, M.S. brings two decades of experience helping individuals, teams, and businesses improve performance. He has worked with several college and PGA Tour golfers on maximizing their potential through golf psychology. Learn how his system helped 2008 Ryder Cup Captain Paul Azinger choose his Captain’s picksand pairings to capture the Cup!
D) Apprentice Workshop— Matt O’Dell,PGA Kevin Walls, PGA and a Panel of PGA Professionals and Apprentices.
Learn from PGA Members and Apprentices who have recently completed each level of the PGM Program with some helpful advice on what to expect. Experienced PGA Members will discuss "tricks of the trade" to help you throughout your career. There will also be a Q & A session. ***NOTE: This Cracker Barrel is mandatory for all attending apprentices
