Sample Bequest Language
The following examples of
gifts by will or trust to the Tennessee Golf Foundation (TGF or Foundation) are
presented to you for informational purposes only. The TGF and its employees are
not engaged in rendering legal or tax advisory services. For specific legal
advice about drafting legal documents, the services of a qualified attorney

Outright Unrestricted Bequest
I give and bequeath to the Tennessee Golf Foundation, a Tennessee nonprofit
corporation, Franklin, Tennessee, the sum of ______________ dollars [or specifically
described property, securities, etc.], as an unrestricted gift to be used for
the general purposes of the Foundation
Outright Bequest to Unrestricted Endowment
I give and bequeath to the
Tennessee Golf Foundation, a Tennessee nonprofit corporation, Franklin,
Tennessee, _____________ dollars [or specifically described property,
securities, etc.], to be added to the Tennessee Golf Foundation’s general
endowment fund. This gift shall become a part of the Foundation’s
permanent endowment and may be combined for investment purposes with other
funds of the Foundation. The annual distribution shall be computed in
accordance with the Foundation’s policy for endowment spending and shall be
used for the general purposes of the Foundation.
Bequest of Residuary Estate
All the rest, residue, and
remainder (or a specified percentage) of my estate, both real and personal
property of whatever kind and wheresoever situated, which I may own or have the
right to dispose of at the time of my death, I give, devise, and bequeath to
the Tennessee Golf Foundation, a Tennessee nonprofit corporation, Franklin,
Tennessee, to be used for the general purposes of the Foundation.
Contingent Bequest
I give and bequeath to (named
beneficiary) the sum of _______________ dollars (or specifically described
property, securities, percentage of residuary estate, etc.), but if he/she
shall not survive me, then I give and bequeath the same to the Tennessee Golf
Foundation, a Tennessee nonprofit corporation, Franklin, Tennessee, to be used
for the general purposes of the Foundation.
The Tennessee Golf Foundation is a tax-exempt
corporation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All
gifts to the TGF are deductible for state and federal income and estate tax purposes,
subject to limitations as prescribed by law. The TGF’s tax identification
