JERRY HINTON (MEMPHIS) EARNS VICTORY AT THE TRUE TEMPER TPGA SENIOR SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP
(Brentwood, TN) Jerry Hinton (Memphis) began the final round in fourth position just two shots behind the first round leader Gary Robinson (Hermitage). Hinton carded a one over par round of 73 today to finish at –2 under par (142) for the Championship. The next closest competitors were Gary Head (Hendersonville) and Carl Lohren (Dandridge) who both finished at 144 (E). Gary Head would begin the second round tied for fourteenth position and recorded the lowest second day score of a 69 (-3).
This event also determined four qualifiers to represent the Tennessee Section PGA in the National Senior Club Professional Championship which will be held October 17th – 20th at the PGA Golf Club (South Course) in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The four representatives will be Jerry Hinton (Memphis), Carl Lohren (Dandridge), Gary Robinson (Hermitage), and Bob Boyle (Kingsport).
