SPRINGHOUSE GOLF CLUB AND SPRINGFIELD COUNTRY CLUB TEAMS WIN AT THE CLUB CAR TPGA PRO-OFFICIAL CHAMPIONSHIP


(Franklin, TN)  The Tennessee PGA conducted the first event of its 2003 golf season today with the CLUB CAR TPGA Pro-Official Championship.  Hosted by the Legends Club of Tennessee (Ironhorse Course), 49 professionals teamed with their club officials in the better ball format.  In all, 94 professionals and amateurs competed in the event representing 35 clubs from all over the state.

 

In the Gross Division, pro-Rodney Lemley and his club official (a) Jeff Walker, from Springfield Country Club, carded a round of 67 (-5) to win the division. Pro-Rob Hessing and (a) Ron Bargatze (Bear Trace at Ross Creek Landing) came in second place as the recorded a team score of 68 (-4).

 

Pro-Neil Collins teamed with his official (a) Colin Reed, from Springhouse Golf Club, to win the Net Division as they finished with a net score of 65 (-7) on the day.  Pro-Todd Watson and (a) Larry Bales (Glenrochie Golf Club) came in second as they posted a 66 (-6).

 

This event marks the beginning of the 2003 Tennessee PGA golf season, which will last to the 20th of October.  The next event on the schedule will be the Harold Eller Memorial Pro-Am at Old Hickory CC.
