LOREN PERSONETT SCORED A THREE ON EACH OF THE LAST THREE HOLES TO SHOOT 66 FOR THE SECOND ROUND AND 9 UNDER OVERALL IN THE TENNESSEE SECTION’S CLUB PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
(Franklin, TN) The 2003 Club Professional Championship was conducted at Legends Club of Tennessee. Loren Personett (Nashville) overcame a small deficit to Audie Johnson (Lebanon) to win this year’s CPC. Audie started the round with a three on the first three holes and ended with a 68 and Loren ended the round with a three on the last three holes to end with a 66. Personett ended at 9 under for the tournament to take home the check. Audie Johnson took second place with a score of 137, 7 under for the tournament. Tied for third place was Jeffrey Copeland and Micky Wolfe, both from Memphis Country Club, at 5 under. The Head Professional at Legends, Patrick Jackson (Franklin), shot even par today to tie with Rob Riddle (Chattanooga) at 3 under for fifth place. Tied for seventh place and the last qualifying spots for the Northern Regional CPC where Scott Carmichael (Cordova), Bob Wolcott (Burns) & Steve Munson (Chuckey). Wolcott and Munson were determined as the last two qualifiers on the first playoff hole.
In all 50 of Tennessee’s finest club professionals have come to the 7,000 yard par 72 Legends Club of Tennessee seeking the title of CPC Champion. The top 8 players will advance onto the Northern Regional Club Professional Championship later in September.
