GARY HEAD AND SON DAVID HEAD WIN
2003 FAIRFIELD RESORTS TPGA FATHER-SON CHAMIONSHIP
(Ooltewah, TN) Professional at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club in Hendersonville teamed with his son David Head who is also a Professional in the Tennessee Section PGA. The Head’s were in the process of playing their final 9 holes when severe weather arrived shortening the Championship to the first 18 hole scores. As they posted 78 points, they were declared the winners over the defending champions’ Charles and Chuck Mason (Newport) who managed 74 points.
The stableford format rewards steady team play as points are awarded for bogey, par, and birdies. This year’s event was made special, as the host site was The Honors Course in Ooltewah. As a golf course that ranks highly in the national spotlight, some 200 players representing 84 families came from across the Southeast to participate.
This popular event is proudly sponsored by Fairfield Resorts Inc., one of the world's largest vacation ownership companies. There are three communities located within the state of Tennessee; they include Fairfield Glade (Crossville), Fairfield Nashville, and Fairfield Sevierville.
