KNOXVILLE TEAM WINS EAST TENNESSEE NISSAN OPEN AT –32 UNDER PAR
(Morristown, TN) Assistant Professional from Holston Hills CC James VanDeGriff and his amateur teammates Steve Golliher, Jason Wyatt, and David Trantanella win the East Tennessee Nissan Open by 3 shots. Posting a two-round better ball total of 112 (-32 under par), at the 6,400 yard Millstone Golf Club, was the lowest team score in the events history. Two other teams were tied for second place at –29 under par including Host Professional Scott Kanipe and his amateurs John Reitz, Parker Smith, and Steve Johnson. Professional Randy Wylie (Fairways & Greens), Andrew Black, Matt Cram-Smith, and Thomas Smith were also tied for second place.
James VanDeGriff (Knoxville) posted 64-65 = 129 (-15 under par) as he captured the Low Professional Honors. James has already won just about every event he has entered in 2005 and will be someone to watch this season. Mike Bennett (Chattanooga Golf Center), Scott Masters (Tee to Green, Knoxville), and Greg Wyatt (Golf Capital Learning Center, Crossville) all tied for second place in the Professional Division at 135 (-9 under par).
Fellow teammate Steve Golliher (Knoxville) also posted a 129 as he received the Low Amateur Honors. Eric Rose (Knoxville) finished in sole second place as he shot a 131
(-13 under par).
