The 2006 Cleveland Golf Tennessee PGA Pro-Assistant Champions
were crowned today at Five Oaks Golf & Country Club
(Lebanon, TN) Zeb Patten and Mike Bennett (Chattanooga) from The Chattanooga Golf Center won by 2 strokes with a low round of 66. Tied for second place with a score of –4 under par 68 were professionals: Chris Cauthen/Shane Meredith (Richland CC), Todd Jenkins/Anthony McElroy (Old Hickory CC), Paul O’Brien/Bobby O’Brien and Paul O’Brien/Sam Kern (Ridgeway CC).
In all, 70 professionals competed in the event representing 31 clubs from all over the state of Tennessee. Proud sponsors of this year’s Championship were: Cleveland Golf, Jack Nicklaus Sportswear and SkyGolf. The 6900-yard par 72 layout at Five Oaks Golf & Country Club (Lebanon) proved to be a difficult test under very windy conditions.
