This Junior Golf Celebration will be a day when junior golfers from the state can descend upon Golf House Tennessee to learn, practice, compete, and congregate. During this day long event we will have many different activities for everyone to enjoy. We will have Rules Clinics, merchandise shopping opportunities, contests, Fitness sessions, and much more. Also we will have stations set up throughout GHT to educate individuals and families about the different opportunities in golf that are available to them in the state of Tennessee through our organizations. Our goal for the event is to involve any and every junior golfer, regardless of age or ability, so that they may enjoy one of sports greastest games. Listed below is a complete schedule of events, a list of all the booths that will be available, and other useful information. We look forward to seeing you on March 8th at Golf House Tennessee.

Explanation of Events

  • Jr. Rules Clinic- An introductory education to the USGA Rules of Golf. A powerpoint presentation that will cover basic introductory rules that will assist beginning golfers as they learn and grow in the game. Will also cover important principal changes as this is a revision year for the USGA and R&A.
  • Golf Ball Education - Matt Castillo, TaylorMade representative, will showcase the NEW TaylorMade golf ball for 2008 and how its technology can benefit a players game.
  • Adidas Shopping - Charlie Smoot, Adidas representative, will be with us in one of our dorm rooms to showcase NEW 2008 Adidas Apparell!!! Stop in to see what is new and to purchase items that will be on hand.
  • TaylorMade Equipment Display - Matt Castillo, TaylorMade representative, will be set up in the Teaching Room at Golf House Tennessee displaying the new TaylorMade clubs. Stop by to hit some balls.
  • Fitness & Nutrition - A representative from Prarie Life Fitness and Belmont University will be present to advise on how to stay fit as a golfer. Topics will include pre & post round stretching, workouts, nutrition on and off the course, and more.


Booths

  • Little Course Programs and Events - A representative will be present to talk about programs and events. Learn about the different activities that are provided by The Little Course Staff. Brochures will be available, along with handouts and more.
  • Tennessee PGA Jr. Golf Academy - Come talk to a representative about the opportunities of attending the TPGA Jr. Golf Academy. Representatives will be on hand to discuss how to apply and what takes place during the academy. There will be 10 weeks of camps highlighted by Rob Akin week, FCA week (co-ed), and a Girls Only week.
  • Toyota TGA Jr. Tour - Jr. Tour staff will be present to talk about the Jr. Tour. Between May 28 and July 18, our staff will run events throughout the state. Featuring 15 different levels of ability, over 100 events this summer, and the TaylorMade/adidas Championship Series. Stop by to learn more and pick up a brochure.
  • State & National Events/College Information -  Information will be on hand about events such as the USGA Jr. and Girls Jr. Amateurs, The Bubba, etc. Also will provide information and insight on how to prepare yourself in you are looking to play golf in college.
  • Girls Golf Network/BBGGF - Representatives will be present to talk to you about an exclusive Girls Only golf network. Hosts such events as the Bonnie Blackburn Girls Golf Fest weekend at Golf House Tennessee and the BBGG Knoxville Area Tournament.
  • Teaching Aids -  Our professional, Vikki Vanderpool, has purchased teaching items to help improve your game. Items will be on hand to view and order forms will be available in case you would like to purchase any items.
  • Instructional and Motivational Books - A list will be provided of some favorite instructional and motivational books. This list will include titles, authors, and places to purchase.
  • Prarie Life Fitness - Representatives will be present to talk about the new Prarie Life Fitness Center located in Cool Springs. They will have information on their gym as well as information on how to train to become better equiped to deal with the strains of golf. 

Impossible Putting Course

Located on the putting green behind Golf House Tennessee will be the site of the Impossible Putt. The Impossible Putt will be a challenging test of one's putting skills. Anyone can participate and all participants will be allowed one opportunity to challenge our course. The first 100 to make the the target score will receive a prize.

Longest Drive Challenge

The longest drive challenge will be located in the indoor teaching room. We will use our golf simulator to judge the distance of each shot. The contest will be divided up into age divisions for both Boys and Girls with the winners in each division receiving a prize.
