General Information

Beginning last year, the Tennessee Golf Association is offering our members another great service, TGA Member Play Days. Some of Tennessee’s premier golf courses are supporting the Tennessee Golf Association by giving our members the opportunity to play some golf courses. Both facilities that we will be playing in 2008 are some of the best golf courses in the state.

Black Creek Club

While 1999 Golf World Architect of the Year, Brian Silva, has designed golf courses throughout the country, he chose Black Creek Club to be his first original project in the Southeast. Mr. Silva thoughtfully designed Black Creek’s multiple tee placements. In doing so, he created a golfing experience that challenges the low-handicapper while ensuring an enjoyable time for players at every level of experience. With Black Creek (after which the club was named) providing the strategic foundation for wonderful finishing holes on both the front and back nines, the Club resides on a site rich in variety. Black Creek Club is nothing less than a golf architect's dream come true! In those few instances in which the site did not fully cooperate, another of golf's revered architects, Charles Blair Macdonald, set the stage when he announced, "No expense will be spared to create the proper natural settings for golf." Rarity Pointe Golf Club

Beautiful, lush rolling hills and breathtaking views of Lake Tellico highlight the Rarity Pointe golf course, Tennessee’s only Audubon Signature Course. World-renowned designer Bob Cupp created this masterpiece that not only offers players a challenging game of golf, but also an incredible experience within an incredible setting. Cupp, a world-famous golf course designer, worked for Jack Nicklaus for 15 years and with Paul Clute to design Rarity Pointe's magnificent course. The par-72, 18-hole championship course sits on 150 acres and offers five sets of tees ranging from 4,700 yards on the forward tees to 7,225 yards at the championship tees. The harmony, scale, balance and rhythm of this exquisite land combine to provide for an outstanding world-class golfing experience at Rarity Pointe. Find out more information on Rarity Pointe Golf Club at www.raritycommunities.com.

There will not be an organized tournament in conjunction with these Play Days as we have structured them so participants could have fun and enjoy a round of golf at these magnificent golf courses. Bring your friends and sign up as a group. Your $99 entry fee for each play day includes your greens fee, cart fee, range balls, lunch and TGA gift. Space is limited at each site so sign up today!

Help Support Golf in Tennessee

Part of your entry fee into each TGA Member Play Day goes to help the Tennessee Golf Association promote golf in Tennessee. The TGA annually conducts fifteen state championships, oversees the statewide handicapping and course rating systems, conducts the Toyota TGA Junior Tour and in cooperation with the Tennessee Section of the PGA of America helps support and promote junior golf programs all across the state.

Help make golf better in Tennessee by joining us for a wonderful day of golf at one of our 2008 TGA Member Play Days. For more information on how the Tennessee Golf Association promotes golf in Tennessee, visit us online at www.golfhousetennessee.com.
