Patterson & Stratton Turn In Low Rounds:

Juniors Compete for TPGA Junior Championship

(Shelbyville, TN) On a scorching hot day players from all over Tennessee competed in the Tennessee PGA Junior Championship. Brett Patterson from McMinnville, TN turned the low score for the day with an impressive score of 66 in the 16-18 year old boys division. On the girls side, Lauren Stratton from Spring Hill, TN also turned in a very impressive score of 67. The par 72 River Bend Country Club was playing tough with the heat for the contestants along with a fierce wind from time to time.

            Players are competing in five divisions: boys 16-18, boys 13-15, boys 12 & under, girls 16-18, and girls 13-15. The top boy and top girl will represent the TPGA in Cincinnati, Ohio. They will be among the top 150 junior players in the country competing in the PGA Junior Championship to be held at TPC River’s Bend. Former winners of this event include Tiger Woods, Michelle Wei, Trevor Immelman, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, and Cristie Kerr. The 36-hole TPGA Junior Championship will resume play tomorrow morning.
